PRWeek's fall intern

October 23, 2009

I'm remiss in not announcing this earlier, but please welcome the latest contributor to PRWeek: our fall semester editorial intern, Christina Capodice. She recently graduated from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a BA in English and the ambition to pursue a career in publishing. She was previously an editorial intern at Philadelphia Weekly and AYC Media.

Summer intern

June 11, 2009

Joining PRWeek for a summer editorial internship is MacAdam Smith - or just Adam, as we call him. He'll be helping out with PRWeekus.com, and other tasks.

Adam is a creative writing graduate student at the City College of New York with a strong interest in learning the media business.  He previously worked in production for Abrams Books and taught a workshop on creative expression for underprivileged young adults through St. Johns in the Village.

Birthing of a monthly

May 29, 2009

Today our newsroom was focused completely on one thing around 10:30 this morning: The new monthly print edition of PRWeek. Word got out early that our copies were floating around a floor above where circulation sits, and immediately reporters and editors wanted to know one thing - "Where's my copy?"

The whole staff has spent an incredible amount of time and energy putting together this more than 50-page, dense magazine that brings with it some of the biggest names in the industry, and certainly some of its most well-spoken.

While our publisher, Julia, and executive editor, Erica, along with senior editor, Gideon, and the art and advertising departments have been wholly focused on this new offering, here at the news desk, I was absorbed with our new online weekly edition, along with the daily Breakfast Briefing newsletter. Creating three new products in one month has kept the entire staff humming along.

As you head into the slower summer months, I hope you'll take a pause and check out some of these new offerings - as well as provide us with feedback on them as we adjust to it all.

Thought leadership, please

We have finally run through most of our op-ed queue, and are looking for new thought leadership pieces. If you had previously sent one that did not run (and it is evergreen), send again. If you have had an idea banging around in the back of your head, send it on.
