In the midst of the national movement for healthcare reform, I have been remiss not to mention the push for
dental reform. The death of 12-year-old Deamonte Driver, caused by untreated dental decay, has given the movement an unwanted national story on the dangers facing thousands of children who are without dental coverage. One interesting note in the story is the revelation that a guaranteed dental benefit may be included in the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
