A new study
found that 61% of adult Web users have gone online for health information, and 60% of these "e-patients," about a third of adults, have used social media for health-related purposes.
The Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project and the California HealthCare Foundation survey also
notedthat almost 60% have "consulted blog comments, hospital reviews and doctor reviews, listened to podcasts about health care and signed up to receive updates about health or medical issues. And 20% have posted comments, reviews, photos, audio, or video online related to health care, such as participating in an online group forum."
