If you haven't already gotten your copy, the September issue of
Harper's Bazaar should be hitting mailboxes soon. Besides the fashion models, the pages of the big fall issue feature the
Sesame Street characters. To celebrate the show's 40th anniversary, the magazine published a layout with Big Bird, Elmo, and other characters photographed with a number of top fashion designers, as well as an online video and Q&A.
PRWeek ran a feature story about Sesame Street's communications efforts in
August 2008. “Every single year is a new season and a new experiment," Sherrie Westin, CMO of Sesame Street Workshop, the organization behind Sesame Street, said at the time.
“It's an ever-growing process to get the word out,” Pam Hacker, a publicist at the company, had added.
Certainly, the
Bazaar partnership is a new and interesting way to get the
Sesame Street brand a bit of glamorous buzz.
