Last week, news Web sites launched in a pair of former two-newspaper cities.
More than a dozen former
Rocky Mountain News staffers
launched the
Rocky Mountain Independent, a Denver-based Web site featuring magazine-style news, on July 6.
Meanwhile, former staffers of the now online-only
Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which Hearst
shuttered in print in March, launched
InvetigateWest on July 8. The nonprofit Web site plans to conduct investigative and narrative reporting on issues in the Western US and Canada.
