While the
New York Times might consider itself much more of an international media brand than a newspaper, the Old Gray Lady might be staring at mass layoffs, just like its broadsheet brethren.
The
New York Post’s Keith J. Kelly
reported Friday that the
Times could cut as many as 30 editorial employees in the next 10 days, calling it the paper's first mass-firing in 156 years.
Sources told Kelly that with the
Wall Street Journal increasingly
challenging the
Times, the business and national desks will mostly be spared.
