In honor of Mother's Day and to raise awareness for breast cancer, several Major League Baseball players, and
Reebok athletes, will wear pink cleats during games on Sunday, May 10. The cleats will then be auctioned off to benefit the
Avon Foundation for Women. Players participating include David Ortiz, Jonathan Papelbon, and Tim Wakefield from the Boston Red Sox; Gabe Gross, Grant Balfour, and James Shields from the Tampa Bay Rays; Francisco Rodriguez from the New York Mets; and more. "Reebok has been a supporting partner of the Avon Foundation for a number of years and breast cancer awareness is a cause that has become an integral part of who we are as a brand," said Chris Waldeck, Reebokās director of cleated and equipment for team sports. Louisville Slugger and other MLB providers will also be participating in Mother's Day "pink initiatives."
