I’m curious to hear what people thought of the video montage at last night’s PRWeek Awards. I thought it was an excellent idea – and I’m not just saying that because I garnered some premium airtime. Along with taking some of the pressure off editor-in-chief Julia Hood and judging chairman Mary Stutts, by relieving them of making live speeches, the montage also gave people a peek into what actually happens at the judging, something I’m sure many hopeful winners were curious about. It also gave the judges themselves a voice to explain why they participate and what the awards mean to them, something that just can’t be conveyed in a simple call for entries.

Now, a word of advice for next year: Someone at PRWeek mentioned that they wished the judges’ comments would have been funnier… see what you can do.
