SAN DIEGO: Sony launched a social networking community as part of a larger strategy to build a stronger interactive Web presence.

The company launched a beta version of the social networking site at http://electronicsblog.sel.sony.com/ on January 6, in conjunction with the kick-off of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Marcy Cohen, senior manager for corporate communications at Sony, said the social networking community is Sony's second foray into the social networking space, after it launched a corporate blog last year.
