DETROIT, MI: General Motors communications leader Selim Bingol has expanded his role at the company to include oversight of government relations.

The change follows former VP of global public policy Robert Ferguson's move to GM's Cadillac division, where he will lead marketing, brand management, and advertising. Bingol assumed Ferguson's responsibilities of regulatory and legislative affairs earlier this month, with the new title VP of global communications and public policy. He continues to report directly to GM CEO Dan Akerson.
