BOSTON: Journalists have mixed feelings on the impact of blogs and social media on reporting, found a Brodeur-Marketwire survey conducted last month.
The majority of reporters in the political, lifestyle, tech, healthcare, and travel beats responded that blogs and social media positively impact editorial direction and diversity of reporting, but have a negative impact on quality and accuracy. In addition, 77% of political reporters and 53% of lifestyle reporters said social media had a negative impact on tone.
