WASHINGTON: Potomac Strategy Group, a Republican communications and political consulting firm, opened its doors June 9. Matt Mackowiak, site director for Potomac Flacks and the former press secretary for US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), founded the Washington-based shop. He told PRWeek that he is currently working with two political clients but has plans to bring in corporate, trade association, and nonprofit clients, as well. Services include government relations, crisis communications, media relations, issues, and media training.
