Despite grassroots communications that initially saved the show, the CBS fan favorite Jericho is being cancelled.

The first season ended abruptly, which prompted dedicated viewers to send CBS tens of thousands of peanuts.  The campaign, inspired by a Jericho plotline, was intended to persuade the network to save the show.

At the time, Chris Ender, CBS SVP of communications, told PRWeek that the campaign helped the network rethink the show's cancellation.
