PALO ALTO, CA: Hewlett-Packard CCO Bill Wohl is relinquishing his corporate communications responsibilities and taking on a special assignment for the company's software business following a tumultuous week at the IT giant.

According to an internal company email obtained by PRWeek, HP CEO Leo Apotheker writes that Wohl has taken on a "special assignment" to more effectively tie-in the IT company's software operations to HP's "broad company positioning."
