DETROIT: General Motors hired Selim Bingol as VP of communications, effective March 8, replacing Christopher Preuss, who moved onto OnStar as president. Bingol most recently was SVP and senior partner at GM roster agency Fleishman-Hillard. Fleishman works with GM, particularly on the Chevrolet brand, and is currently helping the company with a campaign for South By Southwest.
Bingol also previously served as SVP of corporate communications for AT&T, the former employer of GM CEO Ed Whitacre.
