BASEL, SWITZERLAND: Novartis has named Michele Galen head of communications. She replaced Sheldon Jones, who has retired.

Galen is reporting to Joseph Jimenez, CEO.

The pharmaceutical company has also named Eric Althoff head of global external communications and global media relations, and appointed Jason Browning head of global internal communications.
