MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN: Compelem Strategies, a Minnesota-based communications firm, announced its launch June 29. The firm was founded by Matt Burns, the director of communications for the 2008 Republican National Convention and a former press secretary for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Burns said the firm plans to work mainly with nonprofits and trade associations and has established strategic partnerships in New York and Washington.
