WASHINGTON: Carnegie Corporation of New York hired Widmeyer Communications to promote a DC conference reflecting the passage of the Morrill Act by Abraham Lincoln and other key public landmarks.
"Creating a Dynamic, Knowledge-based Democracy" takes place June 25 in Washington, DC. The Morrill Act, signed into law 150 years ago, established land-grant universities across America. A short time later, the National Academy of Sciences was founded and, a half-century later, Andrew Carnegie established the public library system.
