A new report from the National Toxicology Program is generating intense media coverage about the possible danger of using bisphenol in plastic bottles or the lining of food containers, particularly those used for infants. Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) called on the FDA to examine the issue more closely, while the American Chemistry Council and the International Formula Council pointed to other scientific studies they say show the chemical is safe.
