National Public Radio took a significant step in the digital arena this week, relaunching
NPR.org and announcing several Web applications to follow.
But while most news organizations are expanding their use of video on the Web, NPR is not. According to
a report in
The New York Times, local member stations were irked last year by NPR experimenting with more video.
Fellow nonprofit media organization PBS
conducted a media outreach and social media effort in April when it launched PBS Video, a Web site featuring content from the network and local affiliates.
