Several initiatives dealing with at-home television sets are in the works, as Google is working with Intel and Sony to bring Web-based offerings to TV sets. The technology will "serve as a platform for other developers to target in creating new programs," The Wall Street Journal reported. Meanwhile, eight movie studios and eight cable networks are partnering on a $30 million advertising campaign, "The Video Store Just Moved In," to promote video-on-demand services.
