A NASA astronaut is using Twitter to communicate in both English and Spanish. Jose Hernandez, who is set to make his first space flight via space shuttle Discovery in August, will discuss his training, insights, and more on the bilingual Twitter feed: @astro_jose. Hernandez has been an astronaut with NASA since 2004.

"I hope to spread that excitement about space, science and engineering and inspire others to follow their dreams by sharing my activities and interacting with my followers on Twitter," Hernandez said in a statement.

Several other NASA projects use social media to communicate, but this Twitter campaign is the first to go bilingual.
