MCLEAN, VA: Gannett has named long-time MSNBC communications leader Jeremy Gaines VP of communications.
He will lead internal and external programs for the company and serve as a communications adviser to the senior leadership team. Gaines will be “instrumental in explaining Gannett's path forward and how its capabilities, principles, products, and services create value and position the company for success in the digital age,” Gannett said in a statement.
Gaines will join Gannett May 21. He will report to Maryam Banikarim, Gannett SVP and CMO, and will be based in McLean, VA.
Gaines is a 14-year veteran of MSNBC, most recently serving as VP of corporate communications. He also worked as director of strategic development at the network and in numerous roles at the White House from 1993 to 1998.
