Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, and Karen Allen took a trip to the AMC Magic Johnson Theater on 125th Street in Harlem for the US
premiere of
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which officially opens May 22. The stars also stopped by BET's
106 & Park, which also tapes in the theater complex.
The location was an unusual spot for a film premiere, admitted Paramount executive Michael Vollman to
CNN. "We could've done it at the Ziegfeld, but the Ziegfeld is boring," he said. "The electricity here is incredible. Look around. You can't compare."
As for the BET connection, he said, "We wanted to make sure every kid in America knew this movie was coming. BET is one of the best ways to reach those kids."
