Last night's PRWeek
Awards were once again the place to be, as we moved to the Sheraton Towers in New York City. I enjoyed catching up with people and meeting folks who I've only spoken to on the phone, but one of my favorite parts of the Awards is being reminded of some of the great campaigns of the past year.
I've been at PRWeek for almost two years now, so I remember writing about or hearing about almost all of the campaigns from last night. We put Ikea's Oval Office promotional event as a photo slot in a past issue, and the campaign won in the
promotional event category. Edelman and Schering-Plough's Don't Blow It campaign was featured as a Digital
Campaign of the Month and also received
honorable mention in the healthcare campaign of the year category. I also laughed remembering when McAfee got lots of buzz for naming Jessica Biel the "most dangerous celebrity" during its Internet security campaign, which won
global campaign of the year.
Also, I've worked with (or at least e-mailed) all of the winners of the agency categories—
GolinHarris,
Emanate,
Lambert, Edwards & Associates, and
Catalyst PR—and it was great to see
Kim Sample and the rest of Emanate celebrate their big win.
After working on a project (or in my case, an article), we sometimes leave it behind and forget about it. But the PRWeek
Awards give us a chance to remember the fun work done in the industry over the past year and celebrate everyone's hard work. Congratulations to all the
winners!
