The London 2012 Olympics bid released its logo this week to
much scorn.
While that is certainly an issue for them, I'm left wondering why Edelman handled the launch of the logo. Per Simon Wakefield:
On a related note with Edelman running media relations and online PR for the launch, it’ll be interesting to see how the organisers plan to use social media in their communications over the coming years.
H&K is
the agency for the 2012 bid. So why didn't they handle the logo launch? Anyone?
I suppose it might have been explained in Simon Collister's, of Edelman,
blog post "London 2012 brand launches in the blogosphere first," but that post is currently down.
