WASHINGTON: Levick Strategic Communications has named SVP Ernest DelBuono chair of the firm's crisis practice.

Prior to joining Levick, DelBuono served as a press assistant to Thad Allen, commander of the Coast Guard, and public affairs officer to the federal on-scene coordinator during the Exxon Valdez oil spill response. He was also deputy director of the Federal Joint Information Center for Hurricane Andrew and a member of the US delegation to the United Nations' International Maritime Organization.

DelBuono also served as a member of the first-response team at Dulles International Airport after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and as a VP for PR and crisis and issues management at Neathawk Dubuque & Packett.

Levick also named Mikah Sellers VP of marketing this month.
