Latina bloggers, also known as 'Blogueras,' are young and blog both in English and Spanish, according to a new survey from nonprofit Latinos in Social Media.
Surveying more than 900 Latina bloggers in the US and Latin America, the report found that 89% of Latina bloggers are under the age of 40.
They are committed to their blogs, with 75% saying they post at least twice a week and 18% posting at least once a day. For the language, 72% write in English and 69% write in Spanish. Additionally, 98% are active in social media.
Ana Roca-Castro, chair and founder of Latinos in Social Media, said: "Through blogging, they have planted themselves right at the epicenter of merging worlds: between tradition and modernity, between off-line and online, between English and Spanish, between American and Latino cultures."
The survey found the top topics for blogs are parenting (62.7%) and Latino issues (54.4%), followed by heritage and culture, cooking and recipes, beauty and fashion, art, technology, and politics.
