ABC is getting some negative feedback over a decision to fire actress Brooke Smith, who portrayed Dr. Erica Hahn on Grey's Anatomy. The character was one half of a lesbian couple, with the other half, Callie Torres, played by Sara Ramirez. Smith told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello that she was shocked by the news and that show creator Shonda Rhimes did not make the final decision.

Blogs are buzzing with the news, calling it "not right and not OK," and E! Online reported that a soon-to-be-introduced character played by Melissa George, who was originally to be bisexual, has been re-written. Smith's final episode will air this week.
