Qorvis Communications helped organize a party in DC last night at the swanky Café Milano in Georgetown for GQ magazine, which was promoting its September issue and featured list of DC’s "50 most powerful people."

Those in attendance early on in the evening included Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), who tied for No. 18 on the list with Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA).

Of course any such list invites discussion as to the merits of the selections. For instance, is the list now out of date because Karl Rove resigned? Or, like Obi-Wan Kenobi after being struck down by Darth Vader, has he only gained in power?
