Google’s chief executive made it pretty clear today that his company is not interested in buying newspapers.
Eric Schmidt, Google chairman and CEO, all but ruled out the search giant taking over ownership of a news organization,
telling the
Financial Times that the company saw a clear division between technology and content and was "trying not to cross the line."
"[Remaking newspapers into nonprofits is] unlikely to happen without some massive, massive set of corporate bankruptcies," Schmidt told the
FT.
