The Los Angeles Daily News reported that Douglas Dowie, former GM of Fleishman-Hillard's Los Angeles office, will begin serving a three-and-a-half-year prison term next month for fraudulently overcharging clients, a case on which PRWeek reported extensively in 2006 and 2007 during the initial trial.
The outlet reported that co-defendent John Stodder Jr., who led the Los Angeles public affairs practice from 2002 to 2005, faces 15 months for the same crimes
. According to his LinkedIn profile, from 2006 to 2010, Stodder was a volunteer for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. His most recent role is listed as director of social media for the Dolan Company.
