The Los Angeles Daily News reported that Douglas Dowie, former GM of Fleishman-Hillard's Los Angeles office, will begin serving a three-and-a-half-year prison term next month for fraudulently overcharging clients, a case on which PRWeek reported extensively in 2006 and 2007 during the initial trial. 

The outlet reported that co-defendent John Stodder Jr., who led the Los Angeles public affairs practice from 2002 to 2005, faces 15 months for the same crimes. According to his LinkedIn profile, from 2006 to 2010, Stodder was a volunteer for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. His most recent role is listed as director of social media for the Dolan Company.
