On June 2, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
said that it is creating a task force to develop ways for the federal agency to be more transparent to the US public.
Most of the tasks outlined in the news release should ring true for communicators, as the FDA seeks to explain what it does without releasing confidential information. In addition, the FDA is identifying "tools and technologies for informing the public."
The FDA continued the effort with the launch of a
transparency section on its Web site, including a
blog.A public meeting will be
held June 24 in Washington.
