The merger between
Congressional Quarterly and
Roll Call has
resulted in 44 layoffs and the development of a new editorial structure, reports
Politico.
Mike Mills, editorial director,
said in a memo that CQ-Roll Call Group will continue to be the largest newsroom covering Congress and the government.
The new editorial structure has been
split into eight groups: Q News, which includes
CQ Today,
CQ Weekly, and CQ.com;
CQ Legislative Tracking;
Roll Call; Consumer Publishing, which includes Congress.org and CQPolitics.com; Specialty Publications, which includes Budget Tracker, HealthBeat, and CQ Homeland Security; copy and production desk; art and graphics; and new product development.
