All of the recent recalls and consumer scares have prompted the Chinese government to take action to protect the country's reputation. The second page of this
Reuters article calls the campaign "top-down." Back in December, I did an interview with
Joe Trippi, where he talked about the slow demise of the top-down communications system. When I read this story, it made me wonder how successful this campaign will be. It sounds like China has a long history of dealing with situations inside of its borders in this way. But can it work effectively to restore trust among those outside of China's borders?
