announced he is leaving Nintendo at the end of the year. Harrison has been with Nintendo since 1992. No word yet on his next move.
While the video game console market is going strong, some are saying the industry is amid an "
online revolution" -- thanks to the staggering popularity of online games like
World of Warcraft. As more households get broadband Internet, those in the console industry make have to take notice. BusinessWeek reports:
There are some in the industry that believe the next round of consoles won't even come equipped with any kind of optical drive—everything will be online. The retail sector certainly won't be happy about that.
