Yahoo has
named Carol Bartz its new CEO. According to the
Associated Press, Bartz is a “no-nonsense leader” and self-described “straight-shooter.” Bartz, 60, is joining Yahoo from
Autodesk, where she was executive chairman of the board after a long tenure as the company’s CEO.
Bartz could usher in an interesting communications style for the company. The AP reports during today's press conference, Bartz told analysts she intended to ensure Yahoo gets "some friggin' breathing room" so the company can "kick some butt."
Last November Brad Williams, VP of corporate commuications at Yahoo,
told PRWeek the company would evolve its messaging strategy once Yang's successor was named. Stay tuned for more.
