The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has enlisted the help of some crisis consultants following the New Year’s Day shooting of an unarmed passenger. Linton Johnson, chief spokesperson for BART told PRWeek the organization is seeking advice from consultants but has not hired a PR firm to deal with the tragedy. Johnson also said BART’s message “is falling on deaf ears with the media.”

“From day one, we've been sending our condolences to the family,” Johnson said. “And we're trying to protect the integrity of the investigation, which is why we can't comment much about it.”

Singer and Associates are among the consultants working with BART on the crisis.
