IRVINE, CA: StreamQuik, a new media product-development company, has launched StreamCell, a portable video-production platform that allows users to pull video content.

The company described the video technology a “live TV truck in a case” that gives users a way to engage the public and target groups.

The platform's equipment fits in a box the size of a suitcase and can be used to stream video content by connecting the users' streaming method of choice, plugging in a camera, and flipping a switch without needing to connect to a laptop.

StreamCell users can broadcast video, along with embedded advertising content, directly to TV, websites, and mobile devices.

Ken Lee, co-founder and CTO of StreamQuik, said the product can be used by PR professionals for live product launches, community affairs and outreach events, and shareholder meetings.

“This is useful for streaming any kind of live event on the fly, indoors or out,” Lee said.

The product costs $18,995. Software updates will be available for free.

Lee said a number of PR firms have expressed interest in the product, but declined to name specific agencies.
