Ruder Finn's holiday drive meets needs of Sandy victims

Ruder Finn is holding its second annual "Ruder Finn Cares" charity drive this holiday season focusing their efforts around providing support for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Ruder Finn, a global independent communications agency co-headquartered in New York and China, is holding its second annual “Ruder Finn Cares” charity drive this holiday season focusing their efforts around providing support for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

As part of Ruder Finn's holiday charity efforts, the agency will be collecting goods for local organizations that benefit Hurricane Sandy victims or were incapacitated due to the hurricane and are in need of replenishing their stocks. Ruder Finn's drives will benefit the following charities:

  • The Child Center of New York: The Child Center, a local charity focused on helping at-risk and underprivileged children succeed in New York, was severely affected by Hurricane Sandy. Ruder Finn is collecting children's books and toys that will replenish this organization's locations and will also benefit youth impacted by the hurricane.

  • Bottomless Closet: Ruder Finn is collecting professional clothing for Bottomless Closet, an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged New York City women have fulfilling careers. Hundreds of women are in need of professional attire this holiday season, especially those that lost everything during the hurricane.

  • The Red Cross of Greater New York: Almost 300 blood drives on the east coast were cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy and many local hospitals are in need of blood. This holiday season, Ruder Finn will be holding a blood drive to help restore the New York blood reserve.

Ruder Finn will be collecting items throughout December and is looking to surpass the 700 donations the agency collected last year and also donate enough blood to save 150 lives. At the conclusion of the drives, employees will personally deliver the collected goods to the charities.

“Practicing good citizenship is core to the Ruder Finn culture,” said Kathy Bloomgarden, CEO of Ruder Finn. “We're proud New York has a culture of giving back and this holiday season we're pleased to be making a difference assisting our fellow New Yorkers in a time of great need.”
