PURCHASE, NY: PepsiCo has appointed Brunswick Group managing partner Jim Wilkinson EVP of communications for the company.

Wilkinson, who has worked at Brunswick since 2009, will report to Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo. He will oversee PepsiCo's global communications team, working to promote the company and improve outreach efforts.

PepsiCo works with Brunswick on a range of issues.

Before Brunswick Group, Wilkinson was chief of staff for Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson from 2006 to 2009. He also served as a senior adviser to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from 2005 to 2006 and previously as deputy national security advisor for communications.

Four high-profile communications executives have left Pepsi in recent months. In January, both EVP of global corporate affairs Tim Cost and SVP of consumer relations and CCO Julie Hamp exited the company. The next month, Joe Jacuzzi, VP of product and brand communications for PepsiCo Americas Beverages, joined the Ford Motor Company communications team, and Bonin Bough, senior global director of digital and social media, left PepsiCo to join Kraft Foods as VP of global digital and consumer engagement.

Despite the different title, Wilkinson replaced Hamp, said Peter Land, SVP of communications at PepsiCo.
