Community Servings is a nonprofit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. The organization gives clients, dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and sends the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. For more than ten years, PAN Communications has supported the Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts-based organization. On November 17, 16 PAN employees volunteered for the organization they care so much about.

Every year, our dedicated employees arrive at Community Servings bright and early, ready to help out Community Servings' staff with their annual “Pie in the Sky” fundraiser. Since 1993, Boston's best restaurants, bakeries, caterers, and hotels donate thousands of pies that more than 500 volunteers then sell to family, friends, and colleagues. Each pie costs $25, providing a week's worth of hearty home-delivered meals to a Community Servings' client and a tasty Thanksgiving treat to the buyer. We're happy to say that this year's 20th Anniversary of Pie in the Sky was an amazing success. With the help of the community, Community Servings raised $565,000 to feed critically-ill neighbors in Massachusetts.

PAN employees also hosted a book drive for Massachusetts literacy program Raising a Reader from December 3 to December 7.  A large box was set up in our common area during that week, and employees of the firm, as well as other companies in our building were encouraged to donate new and unused books.

Our donation to Raising A Reader MA will ensure books are distributed to families of young children living in vulnerable communities across Massachusetts, which in turn will help children build their personal libraries.
