NEW ORLEANS, LA: Greater New Orleans, a regional economic development agency, is seeking a PR agency to manage national media relations.
The winning firm will reach out to national media and help with story development that produces positive coverage of the business climate in the Greater New Orleans region. It will also provide strategic counsel, especially during crises facing the New Orleans metro area.
“Coverage should drive business and economic growth of the Greater New Orleans region and shift perceptions in mass markets,” according to the RFP.
The RFP states that budget is not expected to exceed $100,000. The deadline to respond is January 4 and a winner is expected to be selected by January 31.
Caitlin Berni, press secretary at the development agency, declined to provide additional comment on the solicitation.
An estimated 427 of every 100,000 adults in the city started a business between 2008 and 2010 - the most recent period for which data is available - compared to a national rate of 333 in every 100,000 during that time, according to the Greater New Orleans Community Data Center.
In July, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation hired Dentsu America for a $5.3 million contract that runs through next year to promote the city as a must-visit destination.
