Gibbs & Soell promotes Lambert to CEO

NEW YORK: Gibbs & Soell will promote agency president Luke Lambert to the role of president and CEO on March 1.

NEW YORK: Gibbs & Soell will promote agency president Luke Lambert to the role of president and CEO on March 1.

Lambert, who has worked at the firm since 1996, will succeed 35-year agency veteran Cos Mallozzi. Lambert said the transition plans have long been in development.

“It's kind of a rarity in our business to have succession planning within an independent firm,” he said. Mallozzi will retire next month.

Lambert has served as VP of business development, MD of the New York office, and president in his 15 years at the agency. Prior to joining the firm, he was head of business development and marketing for six years at accounting and consulting firm UHY International. Before that, he served as head of PR and advertising at integrated software company Enable Software.

In the expanded role, Lambert will handle global service responsibilities for the firm's clients. He added that he will collaborate closely with Jeff Altheide, who was recently promoted to EVP from SVP of growth strategies and innovation. Altheide will report directly to Lambert.

Lambert said he and Altheide will work together to determine the next steps for the company in terms of growth strategy and innovation.

“We're going to be working very closely day in and day out, and we're gong to be very focused on growth strategy, innovation, and introducing new business communications services to our clients,” explained Lambert.

Four members of the senior agency leadership team, as well as the business development and growth strategies teams, will report to Altheide, who has worked at Gibbs & Soell for about three decades.
