Former Burson CEO rejoins Morgan Stanley

NEW YORK: Former Burson-Marsteller CEO Tom Nides will return to Morgan Stanley as vice chairman.

NEW YORK: Former Burson-Marsteller CEO Tom Nides will return to Morgan Stanley as vice chairman.

Reporting to Morgan Stanley chairman and CEO James Gorman, Nides will focus on global clients and work closely with institutional securities group president Colm Kelleher and global wealth management president Greg Fleming on external and government affairs issues. He will also be a member of the firm's operating and management committees.

Prior to this, Nides was deputy secretary of state in the Obama Administration. He served as COO of Morgan Stanley from 2005 to 2010. Before that he was worldwide president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller.

Nides has also served as chief administration officer at Credit Suisse First Boston.
