WASHINGTON: C-SPAN sent its Campaign 2012 bus on a week-long tour of universities and towns in North Carolina along with social media technology company Tout earlier this month.
C-SPAN encouraged students and other citizens to record and upload 15-second videos of their thoughts on the presidential campaign. The videos included commentary on candidates and political issues, and can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, and uploaded onto C-SPAN's social platforms. They were used on C-SPAN's programming from the state, such as its morning Washington Journal call-in program.
C-SPAN worked with North Carolina cable affiliates to coordinate, promote, and execute the bus visits. In Winston-Salem and Raleigh, its bus team recognized winners of C-SPAN's national documentary competition.
The tour took place from May 3 through May 8.
