The Los Angeles Times announced it will eliminate 150 jobs in its newsroom and decrease the number of pages it publishes by 15 percent. The cuts far exceed predictions made by executives just a few months ago, The New York Times reports. In February, publisher David Hiller said he expected the news staff to decrease by only 40 to 50 positions.
