Stuff bites the dust, for real, without even so much as a brand to survive its name, at least when Alpha Media’s new event production company, Alpha Productions, finishes rebranding the Stuff Style Awards to become the Maxim Style Awards. WWD reports that Alpha Media Inc., the new owner of Maxim and Blender, started the company a few weeks ago to take on added-value events partnering with advertisers. Doug Turner, the previous associate publisher of Stuff, will lead operations with six staff members, four of whom are former Dennis employees. While Maxim and Blender's names will continue to be slapped on invites for advertisers, Turner's hope is the production company will become a stand-alone proposition.
