NEW YORK: Alcoa has promoted Monica Orbe to director of corporate affairs.
Orbe is responsible for external communications, media relations, crisis communications, brand, advertising, social and digital media, and corporate reputation communications matters.
She succeeded Libby Archell, who is leaving Alcoa to take a job at another company, Alcoa said in a statement.
Orbe was most recently director of communications for Alcoa's engineered products and solutions business, which includes its power and propulsion, fastening systems, forgings and extrusions, wheel and transportation products, and building and construction groups.
Prior to working at Alcoa, Orbe was VP of global communications at Lazard and director of communications at Bear Stearns. She previously worked at CNBC, CNBC.com, and ABC News.
