Job and content cuts
apparently won't be enough by themselves to pay off Tribune Co.'s approximately $13
million in debt.
The same day that the Hartford Courant
announced deep
newsroom cuts, Tribune CEO Sam Zell told
employees the company will consider selling the iconic Tribune Tower
in Chicago, which is about 35% vacant,
and Times Mirror Square, home of the Los
Angeles Times. The Times reports
that it may be difficult to find a buyer for the LA property.
